Pack 24: Resources

Bear is the third-grade level of Cub Scouting. To earn the Bear badge, a Scout must complete six required adventures with their den or family, plus any two elective adventures of their den or family's choosing:

Required Adventures

  • Bobcat (designed to be completed first)

  • Bear Habitat

  • Bear Strong

  • Paws for Action

  • Standing Tall

  • Fellowship

Elective Adventures — Bears can choose any two from a wide range of electives, including fishing, biking, whittling (pocketknife safety), forensics, and more.

As the Scout completes each adventure, they receive the adventure loop for that adventure to wear on their belt. Once all six required adventures and two electives are complete, they've earned the Bear badge.

After earning the badge, a Bear Scout can continue completing additional elective adventures for the rest of the year, earning an extra adventure loop for each one, before moving up to Webelos.

Scout Handbooks

The scout handbooks provided here are older and need to be combined with the addendum to get the current requirements.

We encourage all scouts to purchase a hard copy of the handbook for their specific rank.
